Did you hear a mention of WPFP on the radio today? You just may have! We dropped some goodies off for our friends at JRFM for their current Johnston’s promo “Pigs Flydays”. Emily felt like some flying pig themed cupcakes were the best way to spread the pigs fly love. Chocolate cupcakes with whipped peppermint ganache, and rum & eggnog cupcakes with cinnamon spice buttercream were on the menu – and from what we heard they were throughly enjoyed. Thanks to Docc, Amanda, Kelly & Terra for letting us stop by!

This summer When Pigs Fly Pastries had the opportunity to work with the fabulous team at VeilTV. This is a comprehensive resource that helps brides connect virtually with vendors while planning their special day. VeilTV facilitates the search process and offers a simple and easy way to learn more about vendors in each category. From florists to officiants, photographers to makeup artists, Veil has it all covered.

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of making a birthday cake for Ian D’Sa, the guitarist for the band Billy Talent. This Canadian band from Mississauga is currently on their 10 year anniversary tour! After having seen them perform live in years past, it was exciting to collaborate with them.
Their original vision for the cake was a simple recreation of Ian’s signature hairstyle. We got to talking and soon came up with a design that was much more fun and still made his unique ‘do the star. I quickly began their custom creation: a red velvet cake with fresh Italian buttercream between the layers.
The finished product was a hit – both to look at and to eat! Photos of the cake spread like wildfire over social media and I have been reading sweet messages and comments from their fans for days. Thanks for all the love, everyone – and Happy Birthday, Ian!
